Mars Meets the Sun ~ 2 April 2014

Next week, Mars looks across the sky at the Sun, in direct opposition.

Before addressing the head to head alignment between these two fiery astrological signatures, astronomers have provided some housekeeping details regarding discoveries of and about centaurs and Kuiper Belt Objects.

The centaur, Chariklo, Chiron’s wife, has been discovered to have rings. She is the first centaur to be noted with rings. The symbolic import may appear in the soulmate bond between Chiron and Chariklo. Despite being wild centaurs, the commitment these two held with each other was admirable and worthy of emulation. (Chariklo is featured in both the Galactic Report and the Twin Stars Compatibility report that I wrote and have available on my site.)

I did find it interesting that news reports poorly identified Chariklo’s solar system status. Most reports referred to her as an asteroid. The only one coming close to the unique category that centaurs are, described her as an “interloper.”

Other news sources reported the discovery of a new dwarf planet well beyond Pluto. Yeah, if new means something discovered in 2012. Regardless, the Kuiper Belt Object 2012 VP113 seems to be of modest size by current best guess. What seems to be attracting astronomical attention is that the body is reasonably massive and orbits at the edge of Sedna’s realm. This body comes closest the Sun at about 80 Astronomical Units (Pluto ranges between 30 and 39 AU). At her most-distant point she retreats to 472 AU. It should be noted that because this body has not yet received a numeric minor solar system body number, all this data falls into the “best guess” category based upon current observations, and is subject to refinement.

Still, we know the object holds its north node at 0 Cancer 53, and its perihelion degree, based on present data, is 25 Aries 19 (both these points are heliocentric). Its current position is 19 Taurus 12 (geocentric notation). One of the discovering astronomers, Chad Trujillo, glibly calls the object Biden, because of the VP designator. This is tongue-in-cheek and should not be assumed to have any interpretive import.

So those are the astronomy bulletin updates.

Here we are. We’ve endured the Sun transits to Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto. Consciousness has shifted based upon events, and new, refined action is now required. Next week, on the 8th, Mars moves into direct opposition to the Sun with his retrograde movement.

Should you be one of those folks not advancing your life goals this year because of the personal planet retrogrades, you may use April 8th as the “stop doing that” point. With a planet in direct angle to the Sun, conscious attention may be more easily directed on matters at hand. Though functioning through an opposition (potentially challenging), there is about an 18-hour window either side of the direct alignment during which great starts can be made and significant advancement to ongoing projects can be made.

This is a time in which you can advance all your life causes. All you have to do is:

Be confident, not cocky.

Articulate plan details and action agendas clearly.

Define the next seven steps required with impeccable certainly and lucidity.

Declare goal completion dates.

Annotate all resources required.

Invite all needed participants in your life orbit to contribute everything they have to offer.

Define all expectations, terms, conditions and compensation such that no misunderstandings can arise.

Rally everyone in the same place at the same time and press the “project ignition” button.

This time is powerful. It will be best used by those without lamentations of what has and has not worked in the past. This will be best used by those locked in, dialed up and ready to go head down with unlimited concentration and resolute intention

For how long must one persist to complete this wave? Well, at minimum until Mars goes direct on May 19th. Then again, maybe the devoted, intentional focus is required until Mars and the Sun align by conjunction, the middle of June 2015. In the overall scheme of things, that’s really not that long.

Set your sights. Aim well. Ensure you’re loaded up with ample gumption, then pull the trigger on the next set of aspirations. Once started, the efforts will spread like wild fire.
